Part 2 Exercise 5 Using reference Illustration

This illustration being done digitally It took me a few tries to figure out what I wanted to include, I firstly wanted to try have as many items as possible from the 1950s I could in the one picture whilst being in a typical living room, but I had trouble on the composition and how I would fit all the items in. I also found the faces quite difficult for some reason and I got frustrated and started again this time making it a little more cartoony so I could focus on the items. I wanted to make it simple and stuck to the "someone sitting in a chair" but surrounded him with 1950s things and including 1950's vintage wallpaper, toys, milk bottles, Tv, Phone as well as sporting some of the clothes typical of the time. I think this makes for a more playful illustration and maybe a bit more relatable to a teenager.

My first attempts.

Final Illsutration

The illustration alone is quite visually informative for a teenage audience however in order to make it abit more imersive I used the concept of my drawing being on the tv back in the 1950s to show a more realistic set up.
